Pomfus – Many things inspire us to do the things we do on a regular basis. For me, walking along the beach, taking numerous trips throughout my city, watching cars drive past. All these things are what made me want to take up photography in the first place. In my earlier years (from around 10 years old) I got my first camera! It was a cool Fuji Fine-pix. With that camera my interest really took off!
I would spend numerous hours, walking around taking all these different photos from different angles, I started off doing cars as it was a big hobby of mine too. Id go clean my car and drive down to a local look-out and take hundreds of photos of my car just because i thought it looked good! From there it all started. The bug got me and photography was in my heart. From there i upgraded my camera to a Canon 60D and i went to the next level of car photography. It was around this time i started working at a radio station in my home town. I met some very cool people there and we started hanging out and going to a few concerts together. It was here that my love for photography hit it’s next big level.
I met a woman by the name of Jodie. Her husband was in a band and she asked me if i would be interested in taking photos of the band so they could have some great shots for promotional purposes. I was over the moon! I had never done this kind of thing before and it really felt like an opportunity to learn about a new type of photography. This was only the beginning!
Come to now (about 5 years later) I have updated my camera once again to a Canon 7DM2, and have had the opportunity to do photography for some amazing things. Multiple times ive had the opportunity to capture the Germein Sisters at numerous events around Adelaide, I recently had the chance to also photography Julia Henning (both local artists from Adelaide) They were such eye opening experiences in ways to craft my work. Christian Rock band “Third Day” (from the USA) performed at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and i got to run around capturing some awesome moments from that. I also met many celebrities at the Channel 9 Easter Telethon this year.
On top of that – My love for Aviation and aircraft photography. With both Mark and Kym, we spend hours at Adelaide Airport and other locations around Australia photographing all the aircraft we can. Some people like relaxing and going fishing – well this is our way to relax. Aviation Photography! 🙂
